Click to open David's LinkedIn ProfileWith over 20 years of experience of Project / Programme Test Management, predominately within the Banking / Finance, and Mobile Telecommunications industries, I am able to provide a confident, versatile, and high quality service to any project or programme.

With experience of managing the testing of Software, Mobile Devices, and Business Change Initiatives, along with the convergence of Banking / Mobile Comms over recent years, I have been at the forefront of managing the testing for a number of ‘world-first’ products such as, the first Mobile Contactless Payments device in the UK, and a number of subsequent contactless payment initiatives, the first Dual-Card product for Barclaycard in joint partnership with American Express (which was the largest programme to ever be delivered in Barclaycard at that time), and the first mobile handsets to integrate 3G, Cameras, Bluetooth, touch-screens etc, and more.

I started my career as a Junior Test Analyst working on touch-screen EPOS systems for Checkout Computers (later known as XN Corp), then moving into mobile comms to work for Psion Dacom, and subsequently helping to set up a number of test consultancies, winning outsourced testing contracts with Sony, Panasonic, Nokia, Sendo, Alcatel, amongst others.

I later worked for Nokia as a Programme Test Manager, managing the testing for a number of high profile smartphones of that era, which quickly progressed to becoming Head of Software Testing in the UK for their smartphones division. A challenging role at a very exciting time for the company, as part of a global organisation of test teams based in 8 locations around the world I led a team of 24 onshore Test Managers / Engineers, along with the Test Automation Development for the automation tools that were used globally, and Protocols testing teams. I also managed the outsourcing of testing to a number of companies in China.

In 2010 I left Nokia to work for Barclaycard, as an opportunity arose to become involved in mobile contactless payments, this time from a UAT perspective and whilst this could be seen as a backward step in job level, I could see the mobile / banking convergence being a big deal in the future. This paid off and I quickly progressed to leading the UAT testing team for Barclaycard Operations & Technology in the UK, being lucky enough to work on and manage the testing for some huge programmes of business change, touching upon all systems within the Barclaycard infrastructure.

Following redundancy in 2014, Inspired Project Solutions Ltd was formed to give me the opportunity to provide my services on a contract / consultancy basis, and for Joy to expand her Virtual Assistant services to a wider audience.
